Major Duties
Under general supervision, the Systems Support Specialist assists with the maintenance and deployment of systems, devices, and equipment within the library. The incumbent supports library employee systems and devices, including employee/public printing and conference/meeting room equipment, while ensuring accurate documentation of policies, procedures, and troubleshooting activities.
- Installation of hardware/equipment, software, and patches
- Develops, tests, and builds images
- Performs troubleshooting and diagnostics, and corrects any software/hardware problems encountered
- Maintains the library’s public and employee print systems
- Provides support, training, and troubleshooting for library employees in the use of devices and equipment
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a related field and two years of relevant experience.
- Additional experience, which demonstrates acquired and successfully applied knowledge and abilities shown above, may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
- An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Knowledge of enterprise hardware, software, peripherals, and system imaging within an academic or library environment, including asset lifecycle tracking, inventory control, and proper disposal of equipment in accordance with institutional standards.
- Skill in installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and supporting systems, devices, instructional technologies, and public or employee print services, including coordination with vendors to resolve hardware, software, and A/V equipment issues.
- Ability to ensure system and device compliance with CSU, CSUN, and library policies related to security, disaster recovery, business continuity, and acceptable computer use while supporting disk management, backups, and system operations.
- Ability to provide effective technical guidance, training, and documentation for library employees; develop tools for data collection and reporting; remain current on emerging technologies and library trends; and contribute to departmental, campus, and CSU initiatives as needed.
Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule

- The anticipated HIRING RATE is $6492 per month. The salary range for this classification is: $6492- $9458 per month.
- HOURS: Full Time; 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday. May include evenings and weekends.
