PREPARATOR II
Casual Worker
Luckman Fine Arts

Salary Range: $14.00 - $140.00/Hourly

Work Schedule: On-call. Temporary appointment ends on/or before June 30, 2022; non-exempt classification.

 

Essential Functions: Under the general supervision of the Gallery Curator, the incumbent will assist with installations, de-installations and general physical operations of the Luckman Gallery. Incumbent is responsible for: packing and shipping, receiving and unpacking, performing and assisting with condition reports, hanging and placement of artwork; performing carpentry work such as crating or making pedestals; spackling and planning; handling permanent collection; lighting exhibitions; and picking-up and delivering artwork.

 

Required Qualifications & Experience: Two years of experience in the handling and installation of artwork at a professional gallery or museum is required. Candidate must be able to handle the physical requirements of the work which include lifting up to 100 lbs, and be good at following directions. A professional demeanor is required, as is the ability to work methodically and effectively with others and accept and carry artwork on occasion.

 

Desired Qualifications: Master’s or bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Fine Arts or Art History.
