Accounting Technician I
One-Stop Financial Services

Salary Range: $2,918 - $4,906/Monthly

Work Schedule: Full-Time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; non-exempt classification.

Essential Functions: Under the direction of the One-Stop Office Lead, the incumbent performs accounting duties in the One-Stop Financial Services area. The incumbent interprets and explains various transactions, answers related questions, and resolves problems while interacting with students and various University departments. The incumbent will use the Point of Sale cashiering system to receive and issue receipts for monies, guard against the receipt of counterfeit monies, and run reports and balance transactions accurately. The incumbent must strictly adhere to policies and procedures regarding audit and cash control.

Required Qualifications & Experience: Equivalent to one year of clerical accounting or financial record-keeping experience. Experience in reading and comprehensively reviewing financial records and/or financial accounts for accuracy, and point of sale cashiering system. Competent with Microsoft Office Suite programs. Incumbent must possess ability to: interpret and apply written policies and regulations; compute and post financial data quickly and accurately; operate standard office machines, such as computers, printers, copy machines, accounting calculators, cash counters, etc.; as well as excellent customer service skills and demonstrated interest and ability to work in a multicultural/multiethnic environment. A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the application status of applicants or continued employment of current CSU employees who may apply for the position.

Desired Qualifications: Knowledge of PeopleSoft Student Administration system.
