Natural and Social Sciences-Dean's Office 

Salary Range: $4,372 - $10,792/Monthly

Work Schedule: Full-Time, Monday – Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; temporary, expires on or before one year from start date; may be extended; may become permanent; exempt classification.

Essential Functions: Under the supervision of the Resource Manager for the College of Natural and Social Sciences (NSS), the incumbent is directly responsible for independently developing, planning, providing, integrating, and supporting information technology-based solutions and systems. Incumbent must maintain currency in the continuing changes in technology and organizational structure, provide consultative support to students, staff, and faculty to enhance the use and access of technology and information systems; support NSS and faculty with the creation of instructional media and implementation of websites; ensure compliance with federal and state laws, applicable regulations, and CSU and campus policies, standards, and procedures related to information security; provide support to faculty and staff in all designated offices to increase computer use and effectiveness; provide training and communication materials to users that maximize their ability to utilize system capabilities, features, and other resources; install, reimage, modify, and configure computers and applications on PC and Mac computers and servers; troubleshoot hardware, software, and network problems, and submit the appropriate trouble ticket; serve as liaison between designated office/centers, Information Services, and NSS; provide technical advice and expertise in the evaluation, purchase, upgrade, and maintenance of software and/or hardware resources; provide training to designated faculty and office staff in the use of network and communication tools, Microsoft Office,  Drupal and web accessibility; and maintain and keep track of college IT equipment and software inventory.

Required Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in computer science, information systems, educational technology, communications, or related fields, or similar certified coursework in applicable fields of study and two years of computer user consultation with an emphasis in a multi-platform computing environment. The incumbent must possess a thorough foundation of knowledge and skills in technical information systems and application program packages; web design applications; equipment platforms (Mac and PC); reference database systems and sources and training methods; a strong working knowledge of networks, data communication, and multimedia systems and security. The incumbent must have knowledge and skills in technical information systems and application programs, equipment platforms, training methods, and an understanding of networks, data communication, and multimedia systems. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office. The incumbent must have a demonstrated interest and/or ability to work in a multicultural/multiethnic environment. A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the California State University.
