FINANCIAL SERVICES ANALYST (2 Positions) 
Accounting Technician II
One-Stop Financial Services 

Salary Range: $3,210 - $5,449/Monthly

Work Schedule: Full-Time, Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; non-exempt classification.

Essential Functions: Under the direction of the One-Stop Manager, the incumbent performs high level of customer service and accurate processing of student records in one or more of the following areas: student accounts, business financials, registration, and financial aid. This position will have responsibility for specific tasks within more than one area and will serve as support for other staff as well as department leadership within One-Stop Financial Services area and Controllers Office, and other financial services areas. The incumbent is responsible for processing student payments and departmental financial transactions accurately; use the point-of-sale cashiering system to receive and issue receipts for monies; guard against the receipt of counterfeit monies; run reports and balance transactions accurately; interacts with various departments on campus and students in answering questions and resolving problems and requires the ability to interpret and explain various transactions;  verifying completeness of departmental forms submitted such as travel, direct pay form, and other financial transactions form requests; and ensure that policies and procedures with regards to audit and control of cash are strictly adhered to.

Required Qualifications & Experience: Equivalent to three years of progressively responsible financial record-keeping methods, procedures and practice experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge and abilities. Must have experience in cashiering in front office operations, and experience handling student issues and can effectively interpret policies and procedures in written or presentation form. The incumbent must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and excellent customer service skills. The incumbent must have the ability to apply accounting procedures and practices to the analysis of complex accounting problems; analyze and interpret accounting data; prepare clear, accurate financial statements and reports; utilize problem-solving techniques in finding solutions to complex accounting problems; understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures; work independently; and make sound decisions and recommendations regarding accounting activities; be able to analyze and interpret accounting data, and utilize problem-solving techniques, competency in desktop software including Microsoft Office Suite; and to exercise a high level of tact and judgment in addressing members of the campus community. The incumbent must have a demonstrated interest and/or ability to work in a multicultural/multiethnic environment. A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the California State University.
