RESOURCE MANAGER (3 POSITIONS)

The Position: Reporting to the Dean and serving as the Resource Manager for financial and business affairs for a college, including issues related to space utilization, staff, information technology and fiscal management. The incumbent is responsible for short and long-range planning and finding creative solutions to the full range of administrative and program development problems facing a college. This position is responsible for organizing, hiring and supervising staff of the Dean's Office. The Resource Manager responds to the diverse demands of accounting, contracts and grants administration, payroll, personnel, procurement and contracts, day-to-day operations of space/facilities, travel, environmental health and safety,
administrative computing, and all fiscal-related matters. In addition to handling the fiscal oversight, the incumbent will forecast enrollment and related budget needs; analyze, monitor; reconcile and report college activities including State and Auxiliary accounts; participate in the formulation of fiscal policies and procedures and is the college liaison to the campus community on resource matters; ensure compliance with CSU and Cal State LA policies, procedures and Executive Orders; interpret faculty and staff collective bargaining agreements; and coordinate the day-to-day business operations of the college.
Required Qualifications & Experience: A bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university and five years of experience in accounting or financial/budgetary analysis. The incumbent must have demonstrated leadership in addressing diverse problems, understanding the importance of structure, organization, resource management and completing critical tasks in a timely manner. The incumbent must have demonstrated knowledge and experience in the areas of finance; and account, business management, public administration, data processing and information management. Possess sound administrative skills and demonstrated knowledge and experience in managing administrative, clerical, technical and research personnel, formulating and instituting new job and reporting structures as needed. The incumbent must have the ability to communicate issues clearly, understanding the concerns of various groups, and using the information gathered through appropriate consultation in proposing solutions; strong negotiating and decision-making skills; and to interact effectively with faculty, staff and students in the entire range of activities within the college. The incumbent must have a demonstrated interest and/or ability to work in a multicultural/multiethnic environment. A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the California State University. Desired Qualifications: Advanced degree from an accredited four-year college or university, preferably in management resource and facilities planning experience, preferably in higher education.
Compensation: Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. A comprehensive benefits package is provided.
Appointment: The Administrator II appointment will be made under the guidelines for management and supervisory employees of the California State University. All rights and benefits associated with this appointment are governed by the Management Personnel Plan.
