Enrollment Management Technology

Salary Range: Foundation $3,470 - $6,681/ Career $4,372 - $10,792 monthly

Work Schedule: Full-Time, Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; Temporary appointment expires on or before one year from date of hire; may be extended; may become permanent. Foundation non-exempt position/Career exempt position.

Essential Functions: Under the general direction of the Associate Director of Enrollment Management Technology Project Management and Operations, the incumbent maintains all networks, PCS, printers, and scanners in the Enrollment Services department, including planning, procurement, installation, maintenance, and security. The position also supports Enrollment Services imaging systems, including software, custom processes, and technical coordination with vendors. The responsibilities include asset management, desktop support, security, and imaging systems. Asset management encompasses planning, purchasing, and maintaining the technical infrastructure in the department which includes approximately 200 PCS, 75 printers, 14 production scanners, miscellaneous utility systems, as well as planning and executing department-wide upgrades. The incumbent designs and maintains a detailed database of all department computing resources, including inventories, procedures, projects, budgets, hardware, software, location, configuration, cost, aging, and replacement plans; creates short-term and long-term asset purchasing plans and cost projects based on industry trends and product evolution, and designs and test enhancements to database. Desktop support requires technical support for approximately 175 staff and student workers. The incumbent creates and maintains procedure guides, configuration standards, end-user instructions, delivers excellent service by addressing tasks promptly and accurately, and provides work direction to student technicians. Security responsibilities include proactively evaluating and documenting results when performing periodic tests on network administration and of system security performance for compliance; creating and maintaining network security objects, which includes users, permissions and groups; developing and deploying group policies; executing audit procedures and document results, and enforcing all campus and department security policies. Imaging systems require supporting the hardware and network requirements of the Imaging and Data Processing Unit to ensure system stability and productivity in all areas; and setting up and maintaining high-volume, mission-critical production scanners, and supporting software on client workstations.

Required Qualifications & Experience:  

Foundation Level: Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Computer Science, Information Systems, Educational Technology, Communication, related field, or similar coursework in applicable field of study that included security, asset management, desktop support, and imaging systems.

 

Career Level: Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Computer Science, Information Systems, Educational Technology, Communications, related field, or similar certified coursework in applicable fields of study and three years of progressively responsible related experience.

 

Both: The incumbent must have a thorough understanding of networks; data communication; and multimedia systems and security. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office 365, including Word, Excel, Access, Project, Visio, and Outlook OWA; and demonstrates competence independently applying technical judgment to standard and non-standard application systems, troubleshooting and solving a wide range of technical problems, and developing practicable and thorough solutions utilizing the ”plan, execute, and maintain” strategy. Possess excellent interpersonal, customer service, and leadership skills; and effective communication and listening skills for the purpose of team facilitation, interacting with vendors and over department operations. The incumbent must have the ability to: plan, organize, and conduct projects to desktop systems, perform general office-environment upgrades; produce clear and effective documentation in support of asset management document hardware and software standards;  apply  standards when dealing directly with vendors in order to execute large and small purchases; recruit, supervise, train, compose, and conduct evaluations of student technician staff; and develop, maintain and update technical procedures and end-user guides. Demonstrated ability and/or interest in working in a multicultural/multiethnic environment.
