Salary Range: $4,304 - $6,120/Monthly

Work Schedule: Full-Time, Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; some evenings and weekends; exempt classification; temporary position, expires on or before one year from start date; may become permanent.

Essential Functions: Under the direction of the Associate Director of Recruitment, the incumbent is responsible for providing information regarding California State University admission policy and requirements, developing relationships with prospective students, parents, the on and off campus community, and encouraging qualified students to apply, and enroll at Cal State LA.; provide unofficial transcript review when appropriate. Responsible for the implementation of all recruitment at assigned schools/regions including weeknight and weekend events. Research and respond to inquiries and assist with resolution of concerns as appropriate. Assist in the hiring, training, and providing work direction to student ambassador staff that are placed at local high schools and community colleges. Serve as Cal State LA liaison for on- and off-campus partnerships as assigned. Provide assistance in the planning and coordination of recruitment related events. Responsible for conducting continuous awareness and follow-up for all prospects, applicants and admits in order to increase the enrollment yield. Incumbent will regularly communicate, present, and speak fluently in Spanish to students and parents.

Required Qualifications & Experience: Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public or business administration or job-related field. Additional specialized experience during which the applicant has acquired and successfully applied the knowledge and abilities shown above may be substituted for the required education on a year for year basis. Equivalent of two years of professional experience in one of the student services program areas or in a related field; experience should give evidence of competence and indicate the potential for future growth. A master's degree in a job-related field may be substituted for one year of the professional experience. The incumbent must demonstrate effective written and oral communication skills and ability to speak in public forums and conduct presentations. Access to a reliable form of transportation is required in order to travel. The incumbent must have a demonstrated interest and/or ability in working in a multicultural/multiethnic environment. A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the application status of applicants or continued employment of current CSU employees who may apply for the position.

Desired Qualifications: Ability to communicate, present, and speak fluently in Spanish. Direct experience working with the recruitment of underrepresented student populations; multiple constituencies including students of color, underrepresented students, and/or undocumented students.
