Administrative Support Assistant II
New Student & Family Engagement 

Salary Range: $3,120 - $4,592/Monthly

Work Schedule: Full-Time, Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; temporary appointment expires on or before one-year from date of hire; may be extended; may become permanent; non-exempt classification. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.

Essential Functions: Under the supervision of the Assistant Director, the Communication and Events Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support for New Student and Family Engagement’s Orientation and Transition Experience programs. The incumbent supervises the department’s student social media team, coordinates the mascot costume for the Division of Student Life, and oversees the department’s internal events calendar, including the production of digital and printed promotional material. This position also serves as a backup to the Administrative Services Coordinator (ASC II) in their absence.

Required Qualifications & Experience: Equivalent to two years of general office experience, which included providing work direction or acting as a lead. The incumbent must have the ability to independently handle multiple work unit priorities and projects and to handle effectively a broad range of interpersonal contacts including those at a higher level and those sensitive in nature. The incumbent must have a demonstrated interest and/or ability to work in a multicultural/multiethnic environment. A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the California State University. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the application status of applicants or continued employment of current California State University employees who may apply for the position.
