Salary Range: $6,686 - $12,947/Monthly

Work Schedule: Full-Time, Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; exempt classification.

Essential Functions: Reporting to the Director of Academic Technology in the Center for Effective Teaching and Learning (CETL), and under the leadership of the Executive Director of CETL, the LMS Administrator and Technology Support Manager works in a team environment to manage academic technology systems, as well as train associated CETL staff providing support for these technologies. The support manager develops and directs scalable IT solutions for online learning applications, building complex information curriculums and program scripts that seamlessly integrate student outcomes with online systems. The incumbent administers the Canvas learning management system (LMS) and oversees all related database infrastructure; the incumbent further ensures functionality efforts including the integration of third-party software and tools with the campus LMS to improve teaching and learning at scale; the incumbent develops software code, scripts, web services, API, and other integrations as these provide seamless learning experiences. The incumbent oversees the CETL training database, tracking faculty development metrics for the campus. This manager also directs Canvas data mining, leveraging LMS data analytics including data dashboards (e.g., Tableau) to identify LMS usage, develop early alert efforts, and provide data on LMS use to support Institutional Effectiveness initiatives, and accreditation reporting such as to WSCUC. The incumbent liaises with Information Technology Services to provide customer support for these applications, resolving incidents and implementing changes, including Canvas student support. In addition, the incumbent develops and delivers training to campus stakeholders (administrators, staff, faculty) on key tools and applications. The incumbent plans for future online growth, tracking user experience with applications, and provides appropriate systems administration.

Required Qualifications & Experience: A bachelor’s degree in instructional design, instructional technology, computer science, information systems, educational technology, communications, or related fields, or similar certified coursework in applicable fields of study. Incumbent must possess: three years of experience with Learning Management System integration or technical support; working knowledge of Windows operating systems, and relational databases; strong customer service skills; strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to react positively under pressure to meet tight deadlines; and ability to work in a team environment. Incumbent must demonstrate an interest or ability in working in a multicultural/multiethnic environment. A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU.
