INSTRUCTIONAL SUPPORT TECHNICIAN II
Kinesiology and Nutritional Science 

Salary Range: $4,180 - $7,254/Monthly

Work Schedule: Full-Time, Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; Temporary appointment expires on or before one-year from date of hire; may be extended; may become permanent; non-exempt classification.

Essential Functions: Under the general supervision of the School Director and Department ASC II, the incumbent will be responsible for managing and coordinating instructional support to Kinesiology faculty and students. The incumbent will assist with providing materials, supplies, equipment and logistical support for the delivery of programming for Kinesiology academic courses and activity courses. The incumbent will serve as equipment coordinator for the department; oversee and maintain equipment requests for all activity, lab classes, events and miscellaneous instructional related activities for the department; receive, review and discuss equipment requests from faculty and students; advise requester about availability of equipment and offer suggestions for substitution if requested equipment is unavailable; oversee and schedule equipment check-out/check-in for instructors and students Instruct student employees, students, and instructors in proper operation of equipment; maintain documentation on activities, such as the requests received, type of equipment required by class/activity, etc.; set-up facility for KIN classes with proper equipment; set-up and collect requested equipment from KIN classes; and ensure that equipment is on-hand, in appropriate quantities and condition, and ready for use as required.

Required Qualifications & Experience: Equivalent to three years of experience providing instructional support services for a related unit or discipline, or in producing materials or supplies or repairing equipment in a discipline related to the area to which assigned. OR Equivalent to two years of college with 16 semester units in courses involving extensive use of materials, supplies, or equipment and in a discipline related to the area may be substituted for one year of the required experience. OR Equivalent to four years of college with 16 semester units in courses involving extensive use of materials, supplies, or equipment and in a discipline related to the area to which assigned may be substituted for two years of the required experience. Principal requirements for this position are a combination of knowledge of therapeutic rehabilitative exercise principles; knowledge of therapeutic rehabilitative exercise supplies and equipment; ability to plan activities and prepare schedules; and ability to provide disciplinary based feedback to students and clients engaging in therapeutic exercises. The incumbent must have a demonstrated interest and/or ability to work in a multicultural/multiethnic environment. A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the California State University.
