Administrative Support Coordinator II
VP Administration and Finance 

Salary Range: $3,681 - $6,034/Monthly

Work Schedule: Full-Time, Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; temporary appointment expires on or before one-year from date of hire; may be extended, may become permanent; non-exempt classification.

Essential Functions: The Strategic Initiatives department evaluates, develops, and plans employee engagement and professional
development activities, which advances the pillars and core values of the Administration and Finance division. The department also fosters and supports change management as it relates to project implementation and campus-wide acceptance and training. Reporting to the Director of Change Management and Strategic Initiatives for Administration and Finance, the Strategic Initiatives Coordinator provides a wide range of support such as organizing, scheduling, coordinating, planning for the Strategic Initiatives department. The
position assists with reviewing, evaluating, and planning programs and trainings/professional development in support of the division’s strategic initiatives and project implementation. These activities may include campus events, workshops, campus-wide trainings, and various working group activities. This position will also be responsible for preparing, submitting, and tracking forms and requests, tracking program and departmental expenses and budget, and preparing committee agendas and meeting minutes as required.

Required Qualifications & Experience: A bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university or equivalent training and administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs. The incumbent must have two or more years of work experience in office settings supporting administrative tasks including event coordination tasks. The incumbent must have working knowledge of university infrastructure, policies, and procedures as well as operational and fiscal analysis and techniques. The incumbent must have skill in the research, development and evaluation of policies and programs, including skill in the collection, evaluation, and interpretation of data to develop sound conclusions and make appropriate recommendations; excellent problem-solving skills; and excellent written and verbal communication skills. The incumbent must have the ability to take initiative and independently plan, organize, coordinate, and perform work in various situations where numerous and diverse demands are involved; and to anticipate problems and address them proactively. The incumbent must have a demonstrated interest and/or ability to work in a multicultural/multiethnic environment. A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the California State University. Desired Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Business, Communication, Public Service/Public Policy, or related field. Work experience related to diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives;  on a project or implementation team for new and/or updated processes and procedures; communicating with leadership positions on a regular basis; and with event planning and coordination, including designing event promotional materials.
