Administrative Analyst/Specialist
Rongxiang Xu College of Health and Human Services

Salary Range: $3,288 - $6,347/Monthly

Work Schedule: Full-Time, Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; temporary appointment expires on or before one year from date of hire; may be extended; may become permanent; non-exempt classification.

Essential Functions: Under the supervision of the Associate Dean and Dean of the Xu College of Health and Human Services, the incumbent contributes significantly to the day to day administration of the Associate Dean’s Office and is responsible for the oversight, planning, vision, policy development, implementation and evaluation of all the college curriculum, program review, self-study, assessments, graduate programs and front office staff. Ensures compliance with specific accreditation and licensing requirements. Activities include: planning, coordinating, researching, data collection, and writing all College/Division reports, marketing outreach/recruitment material, policy and data reports, and other communication-related projects as well as attendance of College and University level committees. The incumbent works under the general direction of the Associate Dean but must use independent judgement to make decisions, interpret, and apply a wide range of policies and procedures in matters related to academic and administrative policies of the College and the University to ensure policies and procedures are followed appropriately and consistently. Considerable discretion and confidentiality is necessary. Serves as the College Scheduling liaison, which includes developing detailed reports as needed and providing training to departments/schools on this task; oversees in partnership with the Associate Dean the planning of special events for the College; and is the primary point of contact for all faculty, staff and students for the Associate Dean’s Office.

Required Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university. Two years of full-time administrative work experience involving study analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs. The incumbent must have knowledge and experience with Cal State LA university policies and procedures, and working knowledge of GET/PeopleSoft. The incumbent must have a demonstrated interest and/or ability to work in a multicultural/multiethnic environment. A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the California State University. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the application status of applicants or continued employment of current California State University employees who may apply for the position.
