Position Description

Job Overview

The location of this position is in Chula Vista.

Under general supervision of the Executive Director, Chula Vista and in coordination with Chula Vista site staff, this position serves as the liaison to both internal and external departments/constituents on site related operations and academic programs at the Chula Vista site. The position is responsible for managing a wide range of moderate to complex analyst and support related tasks, including operations , financial, facilities functions, space planning and management, communications support and representing CSUSM through various activities. The position carries significant responsibility in implementing short and long term campus facility-related and operational needs, ensuring site continuity, and supporting the development and delivery of CSUSM Extended Learning (EL)/Chula Vista self-support programs.

The role serves as the central liaison between internal and external constituencies related to delivery of academic programs. The position is responsible to coordinate with the EL academic program planning staff in conjunction with the site staff to determine the needs and strategies for promoting and implementing activities that ensure success of the academic programs. This position will assist the EL programming team with operational support duties related to the planning, coordination, implementation and administration of programs/classes offered by the Chula Vista site.

The position provides a variety of moderate to complex support in the development and delivery of EL/CV programs/classes, recruitment and community engagement activities, and administrative support to the Executive Director of Chula Vista. At higher levels, the role requires independent judgment, strategic analysis, and the management of high-level sensitive projects for the Executive Director. This role will serve as the lead direction of student staff. This position is headquartered at the California State University San Marcos Chula Vista site.

Position Summary

Chula Vista Extended Learning Operations Manager (Administrative Analyst/Specialist Exempt I)

This is a full-time, temporary, exempt position ending on or before one year from hire date. Reappointment to this position is dependent upon the individual's performance as well as administrative and budgetary considerations. The university reserves the right to terminate this appointment earlier than the scheduled expiration date.

Pay, Benefits, and Work Schedule

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $5,274 - $5,597 per month (step 1 - step 4)

CSU Classification Salary Range: $5,274 - $7,684 per month

Salary is commensurate with the background and experience of the individual selected.

This position is eligible for a broad range of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurances, retirement (CalPERS), tuition waiver, vacation and sick leave. In addition, 15 paid holidays are offered each year; 14 scheduled on specific days and a Personal Holiday that may be taken any time during the year.
