The Office of Engagement and Belonging within the Division of Human Resources and Inclusive Excellence is dedicated to fostering an inclusive and supportive campus community. Through programs and initiatives focused on success, community celebration, and inclusive culture, the office promotes belonging, learning, collaboration, and equity-minded engagement for students and employees across campus. We seek an exceptional individual to join our team as the Manager of Engagement and Belonging (Administrator I). The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude, an active, energetic mind, and a leadership style that is characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to inclusivity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.

Duties and Responsibilities

Under the general direction and supervision of the Director, the Manager of Engagement and Belonging provide leadership, supervision, and strategic direction for assessment, program operations, and engagement services and initiatives within the Office of Engagement and Belonging. Responsible for overseeing the planning and execution of services and programs; advancing training and curriculum development efforts that support engagement, belonging, and organizational change; and developing and implementing comprehensive assessment systems. The Manager of Engagement and Belonging is a key member of the leadership team and is responsible for ensuring that programs and initiatives align with divisional and institutional priorities. This position exercises independent judgment, manages multiple functional areas, and collaborates with campus partners to advance strategic outcomes. Other duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications

Master’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university. Five years of progressive professional experience in higher education administration, assessment, learning and development, or a related area. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and projects. Ability to manage work demands and time management with autonomy. Experience in data analysis, program evaluation, or assessment practices. Strong interpersonal, communication, presentation, and organizational skills.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to complete the background check satisfactorily may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.  

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s or doctoral degree in higher education, organizational development, social sciences, or a related field. Experience developing and delivering training or curriculum. Knowledge of engagement, belonging, and inclusive excellence practices. Experience with assessment tools, reporting, and data-informed decision-making.
