Student Services Professional III
Office for Students with Disabilities

Salary Range: $5,540 - $7,893/Monthly (Budgeted Hiring Salary Range $5,540 - $5,733/Monthly)

Work Schedule: Full-Time, Monday- Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; exempt classification.

Essential Functions: Under the general direction of the Director and Associate Director of the Office for Students with Disabilities (OSD), the Disability Management Specialist – Autism (SSP III) provides comprehensive disability management, accommodations, and support services for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other neurodevelopmental or mental health conditions that significantly impact executive functioning, social communication, and self-regulation skills. The incumbent ensures equitable access to educational opportunities and fosters student access through individualized accommodations, proactive case management, skill development, and collaboration with faculty and staff. The position also supports campus-wide education and outreach to promote inclusion, accessibility, and awareness of neurodiversity across the University community. Work is performed independently with broad discretion and professional judgment. May provide lead work direction, training, and supervision to graduate interns, student assistants, and/or peer mentors.

Required Qualifications & Experience: Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in a related field, including or supplemented by upper-division or graduate course work in counseling techniques, interviewing, and conflict resolution where such are job-related. The equivalent of two years of progressively responsible professional experience working with students with specific learning disabilities, psychiatric disabilities, attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder, other cognitive disabilities and symptoms, and limitations related to specific medical conditions. A master’s degree in a job-related field may be substituted for one year of professional experience. The incumbent must have a demonstrated interest and/or ability in working in a multicultural/multiethnic environment. A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the application status of applicants or continued employment of current CSU employees who may apply for the position. A task may be included as part of the interview process.

Desired Qualifications: Experience serving students with disabilities, particularly those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other mental health conditions in higher education.
