    • Temporary hourly-intermittent student assistant position available in ASAP (Asian, Asian American, Native Hawaiian Student Achievement Program).

    • Job Description/Duties
    • Under the direct supervision of the CSU ASAP (Asian, Asian American, Native Hawaiian Student Achievement Program) Program Coordinator, the student assistant supports the planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of signature Asian American, Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander (AANHPI) programs and initiatives. The student assistant also serves as a general representative of the AANHPI Student Achievement Program to the campus and broader public and collaborates closely with ASAP Advisory Board on large-scale programs and events.

      The student assistant will support the planning and work within committees for signature cultural and heritage programs, including Filipino American History Month, AANHPI Night Market, Diwali, Lunar New Year, Holi, Eid, and other large-scale APIDA/AANHPI programs. In addition, the student assistant will serve as a resource and collaborative partner for programs and events led by other student assistants and coordinators.

      The student assistant will also assist with developing and/or facilitating smaller programs, workshops, and pre- and post-event activities that complement Student Engagement and Belonging programming and enhance the overall participant experience. Additional responsibilities may include coordinating special receptions and related activities for visiting speakers, performers, and other guests.



      Duties include but are not limited to:
      • Assist with the planning, coordinating, promoting, implementing, and evaluating of Signature Events. Supports 1-2 programs each semester.
      • Attend weekly all staff meetings and individual meetings with pro-staff.
      • Assist and support Warrior Cross Cultural & Community Engagement & Belonging (CEB) professional staff programming.
      • Support other student programs.
      • Inform, recruit, and motivate students to attend upcoming events.
      • Serve as an AANHPI liaison to student groups/organizations and campus partners.
      • Work closely with professional staff and other departments, i.e serving on committees.
      • Maintaining the upkeep and organization of the Warrior Cross Cultural Center/Space, including executing open/closing procedures.
      • Aid in welcoming students, faculty, and staff into the space by inviting, greeting, and having engaging conversations about the Warrior Cross Cultural services.
      • Participating in development training and presentations with community and campus partners.
      • Table during campus-wide events (ex: Orientation, Open House, Admitted Student Reception).
      • Serve on campus-wide committees as assigned.
      • Foster and cultivate a sense of belonging, inclusivity, and community.
      • Other duties as assigned.

      • Communicate effectively with all levels
      • Read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.
      • Intermediate to advanced knowledge and understanding around social justice issues;
      • Proven strength in logistical and programming skills
      • Previous student leadership experience
      • Bilingual skills; strong computer skills
      • Ability to work autonomously and in teams.

      Required Qualifications:
      • Undergraduate students must be registered/enrolled in a minimum of six (6) Fall/Spring units.
      • Post-baccalaureate students in a graduate program must be registered in a minimum of four (4) Fall/Spring units. 
    • Salary Range
    • $16.90 per hour.
