Salary Range: $4,198 - $7,745/Monthly (Budgeted Hiring Salary Range $4,198 - $5,084/Monthly)

Work Schedule: Full-Time, Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; non-exempt classification.

Essential Functions: Under the general direction of the Head of Collections, Discovery, and Content Management (CDCM), the Acquisitions and Collection Processing Analyst will manage a wide range of functions related to acquiring library materials in a variety of formats, including print, electronic monographs, electronic collection, electronic and print journals, and database subscriptions; and manages and oversees the daily operations related to the library acquisitions functions, including ordering, vendor record maintenance, claiming, and analytics reporting for one-time and subscription orders of licensed collections and databases, electronic books, and electronic journals and thousands of print materials. The position will help lead CDCM staff members (LSS II and LSS Ill) and directly or indirectly provide direction to student assistants involved in all library material acquisitions and processing. This position will also track and report acquisition expenditures, support inventory management and maintenance, create analytical reports, assist library donation processing, and be directly involved in the development of procedures and best practices in these areas. The Acquisitions and Collections Processing Analyst should be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing with internal constituents and external vendors/publishers. 

Required Qualifications & Experience: Minimum of five years of library-related acquisition experience. The incumbent must posses an in-depth knowledge of the library acquisition, acquisition processing, and the fund structure and management in the library service platform, preferably Alma; a comprehensive understanding of the acquisition data and the acquisition analytic functions; descriptive metadata standards including but not limited to RDA, MARC/MARC21, Dewey Decimal, and Library of Congress classification systems; and of electronic resources' scope, variations, and characteristics, including databases, journals, eBooks, and streaming videos. The incumbent must have excellent customer service, interpersonal, oral, written communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. The incumbent must have demonstrated ability to work with various software, databases, integrated library system modules, and applications; work effectively with the Library, Administrative Office on invoicing, payment workflow, and other related matters; work effectively with minimal direction both independently and collaboratively with colleagues; and to work well under pressure, work independently, and adjust priorities when necessary. The incumbent must have a demonstrated interest and/or ability to work in a multicultural/multiethnic environment. A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the California State University. Desired Qualifications: A bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in a related field. Experience managing acquisitions in an academic consortia environment. Strong commitment to responsive, timely and proactive service to foster student success. Possess administrative and supervising experience and good interpersonal skills.
